Improved Sea Fury cowling for the 1/48 Airfix kit. The cowling has been improved in diameter to make it the same size as the front cowling ring, also the join line of the kit is right on the line where the cowling toggle clamps are positioned making a neat join and to retain the detail very tricky. However there is an error made by Airfix as the cowling split line between the upper and lower access doors is in the incorrect place. he upper door should be slightly smaller and therefore the line moves up by about 2mm, this has been verified by photographs and drawings and cross checked by Steve Long AKA Seavenom870 on Britmodeller who has access to a Sea Fury in Australia. Basically Airfix have the panel line in line with exhaust 3 from the bottom and it should be between 4 and 5 from the top. Also I found that on all three kits that I had purchased the 'small strip' area over the exhausts was short shot, so that also was repaired. Hopefully the pictures hope to tell the story. Note the new resin casting is as it is but I have run a wash into the panels for clarity.
